ECCE Scheme

Free Pre-school Year

The Early Childhood Care & Education Scheme (ECCE) means that children will be able to avail of free pre-school when they reach age 3 and can remain in the free pre-school scheme until they transfer to primary school (provided that they are not older than 5 ½ years at the end of the pre-school year).

As we are a sessional pre-school we follow the 38 week scheme which means that the government contribute payment for 3 hours of our day for 5 days per week (term-time) to children who are registered and qualify.

The pre-school operates the ECCE scheme for 3 hours per day (9.30am – 12.30pm) for 183 days in our calendar and these 3 hours are free for parents. However we are open longer than the 3 hours covered by the ECCE scheme and require a contribution of €95 per month for the extra time offered (i.e. 9-9.30am daily, 5 mornings per week) .
