Food and Nutrition


We have snack time at 11am. Children need to bring in water in a bottle that does not leak and a small snack daily in a lunchbox clearly labelled with their name. We store these in our fridge at drop-off time.

We recommend sending in 2 items from the list below:

  • piece of fruit
  • crackers
  • yoghurt
  • raisins
  • cheese
  • small sandwich

We operate a healthy eating policy (no popcorn, crisps, sweets, chocolate or sugary snacks to be provided).

The whole school is a NO NUT ZONE, so please do not send nuts or nut-products into school.

  • Children are encouraged to try new tastes.
  • Water is always readily available.
  • Children are encouraged to eat at their own pace, whilst staff promote a relaxed atmosphere and encourage conversation.
  • We introduce different varieties of fruit and vegetables during the year as part of our activities and look forward to learning and discussing all foods and their nutritional benefits.

Birthdays and Celebrations

Children may bring in a birthday cake or buns to celebrate their birthday with their class.

Occasionally we provide sweets/treats for special occasions or events that we organise such as the Teddy Bear’s summer picnic, Christmas party and Ice-cream party.
